The Way of Water es mejor que Avatar 1, la trama meh pero los efectos visuales están adelantados décadas. Que vergüenza el trailer de Ant Man 3 que dan antes :risas

Tal vez por eso, por ser una autobiografía. Un tatita te sienta en sus rodillas y te cuenta su vida de como fue que se hizo cineasta. Ok, muy interesante tatita, muy bien contado. Pero preferiría haber leído el libro, o por último ver el docu de Netflix (broma).

Akira Kurosawa tuvo una vida mucho más interesante, de hecho otros directores tan o mejores que Spielberg tuvieron vidas más interesantes, pero su narcisismo no llegó a tanto para hacer una película, que para eso está el medio escrito, para escribir tus memorias.

The Fableman está bien filmada, nadie lo niega, es entretenida, tiene sus momentos graciosos y otros emotivos, pero no dice nada más que lo que muestra, no tiene mayor profundidad (para mi, ojo, para mi) de lo que despliega en pantalla. Si uno no supiera que es de Spielberg es la típica historia drama que tiene sus momentos.

En fin, baneadme, pero es lo que pienso.

hasta ahora de las nominadas solo he visto: banshees of inisherin y everything, everywhere all at once. La vdd la película del año para mi es Aftersun, encuentro rarisimo que nisiquiera se ganara la nominación

Al Oscar no llegan las mejores, llegan las que tienen plata para hacer campaña. El reconocimiento a Aftersun está en la nominación a mejor actor a Mescal, seguramente apostaron las pocas fichas que tenía ahí.
Por eso quedó la embarrada con la nominación de Riseborough. No hizo campaña (porque To Leslie no ganó nada, una película ínfima en presupuesto y aspiraciones), ¿entonces como quedó nominada? Solo porque amigos poderosos en Hollywood, como Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, etc., hicieron campaña por ella, hicieron exhibiciones privadas, crearon screeners que enviaron a otros miembros de la Academia, etc. No hubo una campaña con plata de por medio, y a la Academia, acostumbrada al negocio, no le gustó, al punto que anunciaron que investigarían la nominación.

Se echaron para atrás obviamente porque habría sido un escándalo (la actuación es muy bueno por lo que entiendo), pero eso demuestra que si no sigues el circo y no pones platita no te va bien en los Oscar. Antes era peor en todo caso.

A mi me falta ver Women Talking y Avatar TWOW. La verdad es que Avatar me llama poco la atención, pq la 1 no me gustó tanto, nunca sufrí de Avatarmanía

La próxima vez que van a ver algo tan espectacular en una sala de cine será en 2024, en Avatar 3.

EEAAO ganó el DGA, el PGA y ayer el SAG.

No tienen para que ver la ceremonia muchachos, ya está asegurado su Oscar a Mejor Película, Mejor Director, Mejor Actor Secundario y ayer se metió firme a pelear Mejor Actriz y Mejor Actriz Secundaria.

Fraser se llevó el SAG así que parece que le va a ganar la carrera a Austin Butler.

Yo vi Elvis y me gustó bastante, el esquizofrénico de Luhrmann se moderó bastante. Y la actuación de Butler es increíble le pega mil patadas al Freddy Mercury de Rami Malek.

Vi All Quiet on the Western Front y Women Talking. Me estoy haciendo ánimo para ver la última que me queda, Triangle of Sadness. La subieron a Prime Video.

Bien las dos pero no me emocionaron mucho.
AQOTWF es una mirada cruda a la futilidad de la guerra a la que le faltó mayor impacto emotivo (lo logra en esa escena donde le lee la carta de su esposa, pero la película nunca logra mantener esa emotividad).
Women Talking, puta estaba cagado de sueño malditos niños que van al colegio. Pero es interesante la propuesta de la película, me hizo clic al otro día. Trata de un grupo de mujeres que son abusadas y maltratadas por los hombres en una comunidad muy religiosa. Aburridas de estos maltratos deciden hacer una votación para ver cómo siguen, si se mantienen en la comunidad, se defienden o se van. Con esta premisa (que viene de una novela) explora, desde una puesta en escena muy teatral, temas relacionados al abuso, el amor, los derechos de las mujeres, el rol de los hombres, etc, con una mirada obviamente feminista pero también con humor. Nuevamente, donde no enganché fue en la parte emotiva, al ser un grupo coral no hay un personaje que lleve las riendas.
